This is a flexible, instructor-led, credit recovery Physical Education course. Instructors regularly interact with students, answer questions, and give feedback on work. This course covers one semester of Physical Education concepts for credit recovery.
The purpose of this course is to promote the development and maintenance of personal health-related fitness. Students demonstrate and assess fitness levels by performing exercises or activities related to each fitness component, and establish personal goals to improve their fitness. The course focuses on healthy living and lifestyle choices, with an emphasis on the role of exercise. Course content includes fitness assessment, regular physical activity, and review of basic body systems.
Please note that although students may work at their own pace on the academic activities in this course, due to the nature of a Physical Education course, they will be required to complete and log their physical fitness activities consistently for at least 8 consecutive weeks throughout the 15-week duration of the course. Please also note that the course does not cover a full semester’s curriculum with the same depth that is covered in a semester-long course. Check with the student's school to confirm that the topics covered match those required by the school. It is also important to confirm the school’s process for receiving credits, which may involve an assessment administered separately by the school.
