American Sign Language 3 builds upon skills developed in American Sign Language 2, extending students’ ability to understand and express themselves in American Sign Language and continuing to increase their vocabulary and speed. The focus of expressive skill improvements will be to further students’ abilities in expressing increasingly complex concepts, while showing some spontaneity in signing. Receptive skill goals for students will also include attaining more facility and faster understanding when viewing the language signed at normal rates. This course targets Novice-High Level of World Language Standards and Benchmarks and will address the five goal areas targeted in the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, communities.
Successful completion of American Sign Language 1 and 2.
Please Note: This course contains an end-of-course proctored exam. Instructions for students to identify an appropriate adult proctor are included in the course lessons.
