The Study Skills course is designed to provide strategy instruction for students who struggle independently to implement executive function strategies. Three primary objectives are targeted in the Study Skills course: the organization of time, materials and information. This course is offered to help students develop a more organized and independent approach to learning in order that a student may be able to access content of increasing length and complexity. Instruction is aimed at developing higher order thinking skills required to complete long term assignments, research and organize ideas for in depth presentations and papers, and utilize their own intellectual and academic strengths to help them succeed both in and beyond high school.
These study skills and strategies build the foundation for learning. When implemented and made part of a student’s routine, potential is unlocked and students become active, independent learners.
This course may be appropriate for students in higher grades. Please contact us at
