We live in a world where engineering touches nearly every aspect of our lives. From energy efficient “smart” buildings and transportation systems, to prosthetics and mobile devices, engineers are designing and building today, for a brighter tomorrow.
Through research and experimentation, you will explore how buildings, bridges, and other modern structures work. You will have the opportunity to apply your understanding to analyze the many engineered features of your own home including the foundation, roof, insulation, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and cooling. In addition, you will work collaboratively to design and model a structure for community shelter, and evaluate competing shelter design solutions to determine how well they meet the criteria and constraints of the problem. Along the way you will look at the many career options available to engineers such as structural engineering, green engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, robotics and software engineering.
Engineering will allow you to exercise your creativity, stretch your imagination, and work collaboratively with students around the world. Societies will always be looking for new and dynamic engineers, why not start now?
